Welcome to UCFO Family Readiness Program
The Family Readiness Program is UC’s comprehensive support system designed to strengthen households, stabilize relationships, empower youth, and prepare families for life’s transitions. This program ensures that every family connected to UC has access to emotional support, spiritual covering, practical tools, and community connection.
Darren Staggers
Family Readiness Team Lead
Darren Staggers serves as the Family Readiness Program Leader for Ultimate Connections Family Outreach, a role he embraces with deep humility and gratitude. Formalized in August 2026, his leadership reflects a lifelong commitment to service, faith, and strengthening families.
Darren gives thanks to God for this assignment and acknowledges the unwavering support of his family. He and his wife of 36 years, Sandra, have built a foundation of love, encouragement, and faith. Their two adult children—Justin of San Antonio and Darielle of New Zealand—continue to be a source of inspiration through their prayers and support.
Originally from Mullins, South Carolina, Darren began his service journey in 1982 when he enlisted in the United States Air Force as a Medical Services Specialist. Over the course of his distinguished military career, he advanced to Senior Instructor at the United States Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine, retiring honorably in 2003. His post‑military career continued this trajectory of service through federal government roles in Occupational Health, Safety, and Workers’ Compensation. He also served as an adjunct instructor at Miller‑Motte Technical College, teaching healthcare courses to diverse and underserved student populations.
Darren later expanded his leadership in healthcare as an Occupational Health and Safety Specialist and ultimately as Safety Director at Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital. There, he chaired the Environment of Care Committee and served as Emergency Manager—roles that allowed him to lead, protect, and support both staff and community.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Darren answered God’s call to Ministry. Licensed in 2003 and ordained in 2004, he served faithfully in the youth and young adult ministry in San Antonio and later as Youth Director at Saving Faith Church Fellowship. His passion for mentoring and developing young people remains a defining part of his ministry.
Education has been a cornerstone of Darren’s growth. He holds a Bachelor of Occupational Education with an emphasis in Health Education, along with degrees in business, accounting, and a Master of Business Administration. These combined experiences—military, professional, educational, and ministry—have uniquely prepared him for his leadership role within Ultimate Connections.
As Family Readiness Program Leader, Darren is committed to serving with humility, compassion, integrity, and a servant’s heart. He is excited to support every ministry under the UC Family Outreach umbrella and believes that by working together and keeping Christ at the center, UCFO will continue to make a meaningful impact on the families it serves.
Darren looks forward to serving alongside the UC team and expresses sincere gratitude for the prayers, encouragement, and support that surround this work. His hope is that God will abundantly bless every family connected to Ultimate Connections.
